Important Information: Year 11 Language Speaking Examinations & Schedule

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to provide you with essential information regarding the upcoming Year 11 language speaking examinations. These exams are a crucial component of the IGCSE language courses and contribute significantly to your child’s overall grade.

Key Examination Dates and Information:

For all speaking exams:

  • Students are to attend school during normal school hours.
  • They will have a self-study period before their designated exam time.
  • Students are expected to return to their regular lessons after their speaking exam.
  • Individual student speaking exam slots and revision guides can be found on their Google Classroom.
  • Wednesday 23rd April:
    • Mandarin as a Foreign Language Speaking Exam
    •  Chinese as a Second Language Speaking Exam
  • Thursday 24th April:
    • Spanish Speaking Exam
  • Friday 25th April:
    • French Speaking Exam
  • Friday 25th April:
    • Mandarin as a Foreign Language Writing Exam
    • Students are welcome to come early to school on this day to study with their teacher from Period 1 to Period 2 at G16.
  • Tuesday 29th April:
    • Mandarin as a Foreign Language Listening Exam
    • Chinese as a Second Language Reading & Writing Exam
    • Students are welcome to come early to school on this day to study with their teacher from Period 1 to Period 3 at G16.

Please encourage your child to review course materials and practise speaking regularly. Detailed revision guides and practice materials are provided on their Google Classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s language teacher or myself if you have any questions or concerns.
