Dear Year 3 families,
I am writing to invite you to a parent information session on Tuesday 14th March at 5.30pm in the Globe Theatre to outline the next exciting Year 3 experiential learning activities. As part of this programme, the children will enjoy a day trip to Mui Wo and an overnight sleepover at school.
Trips and camps make up an essential part of our holistic approach to education at DBIS. They offer the children a way to connect their learning from school with the wider world. Perhaps even more crucially, they develop skills of independence, citizenship, resilience and boost self-esteem. We are thrilled that we can support your children to have this experience now Covid regulations are relaxed.
Brief outline of activities:
In Mui Wo, the children will apply learning from their Discovery units to conduct soil sampling, a mini-waterfall scramble, a micro-climates and ecology exploration of a local stream, shelter building and team building games.
Back at school, we will enjoy dinner together, playing games and reading stories before settling down to camp at school.
Dates:
3AR and 3TS: Thursday 20th – Friday 21st April
3KJ and 3EJ: Thursday 27th – Friday 28th April.
Cost:
HK$720 per child.
We very much look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 14th March to discuss these great learning opportunities and answer any questions you may have. As ever, the presentation will be made available on the Hub to those who are not able to attend in person.
Kind regards,
The Year 3 Team
