Dear FS-1 and FS-2 Families,
We are looking for junk modelling donations at our Early Years Campus. Junk modelling offers opportunities for developing children’s creativity using a range of open-ended, recyclable resources. It is also fantastic for developing fine and gross motor skills. Using different types of recycled objects enables children to learn about the basic properties of everyday materials – such as plastic, paper, cardboard, metal and wood – through a hands-on approach.
Next to Miss Angel’s desk, you will find a donation area where you can drop off all your recyclable materials for our FS-1 and FS-2 children to use in junk modelling and woodwork opportunities. We kindly ask that all donations that contained food or liquid are washed before, e.g. milk cartons.
Resources needed:
- Egg cartons
- Milk cartons
- Cardboard boxes (big and small welcome)
- Plastic lids
- Plastic containers (example: yoghurt pots)
- Metal lids
- Corks
- Kitchen rolls
- Fabric
Thank you for your support!
Kind regards,
Emma Chambers
Head of FS-2
