Key Dates in June

Dear Year 5 Families,

As we enter the final few weeks of the academic year, we thought it would be helpful to summarise some of the key events happening over the next few weeks for Year 5.

Friday 13th June – Student Council Speeches for Year 5

Student Council speeches will be shared in class on Friday 13th June, with final selections being made the following week.

Wednesday 18th June 2025 – Celebration of Learning & Onwards and Upwards Ceremony

Parents are invited to visit the Year 5 classrooms from 8am to 8.45am to celebrate the children’s progress this year. The children will share some of their learning from Term 3 and take part in a small ‘Onwards and Upwards’ ceremony.

Friday 20th June – Moving On Up Morning

Children from FS-2 to Year 6 will visit their new classes to meet the teacher and friends they will be learning with next year. Student reports and class lists will also be shared with parents after school on this day.

Thursday 26th June – Shared Lunch

To celebrate the children’s achievements, we would like to host a shared lunch buffet and party across the Year 5 classes. We kindly ask that families contribute an item of food for their child to share.

The children have suggested options such as sausage rolls, spring rolls, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, fried rice, fruit and some sweet treats. To minimise food waste, we recommend planning for approximately six children.

On the day, we ask that:

  • All food is delivered in named boxes;
  • Ingredients are labelled (please remember we are a nut-free school);
  • Children bring reusable cutlery and a plate to serve themselves.

Thank you for your support in making this a memorable event for the children.

Friday 27th June 2025 – Last Day of Term

EYFS Half Day: 11.30am finish.
Year 1 – Year 6 Half Day: 12pm finish.

Kind regards,

The Year 5 Team
