Nursery Term 3

Dear Nursery Families,

We hope you have had a restful Easter break.

As we enter Term 3 we will begin our Discovery Unit of Storytelling. This week starts off with our DBIS Book Week. During the school closure, we are continuing our live Community Times, Monday to Thursday through Google Meet. Live Community Time are a great opportunity for children to connect. We are so proud of how the children have adapted to these sessions and encourage you to join these sessions. Class teachers will send out their classes Community Time schedules on Sunday.

On Thursday 24th April to celebrate DBIS Book Week we invite children to wear their pyjamas or dress up as a favourite book character for their google meet. There will be a mystery reader!

We will continue to post optional learning opportunities in line with our Discovery Unit in the class journal. These planned opportunities focus on the learning your child would have experienced in school. Please continue to share your child’s learning through the Seesaw messaging tool. We love connecting with you and sharing these experiences.

During a typical day in Nursery, your child is encouraged to play inside and outside. This is allowing them to follow their own interests. Developmentally we understand that young children learn through play. Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength.  If you play all day, we would love to see a photo or video too!

Finally again we would like to thank all our Nursery Families for their continued support. We encourage you to continue to use the Seesaw messaging tool to communicate with class teachers in regards to your child’s development or feedback in regards to live Community Times.

We look forward to seeing you all for our first Google Meet of the term on Monday morning!

Best wishes,

The Nursery Team
