Parent Wellbeing Workshop: ‘Growing Together’ – Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health Journey

Dear DBIS Families,

As a core part of our upcoming ‘Wellbeing Week’ (26th – 30th January), we are delighted to invite you to an event designed specifically for our parent community.

We will be hosting an expert Q&A panel on the topic ‘Growing Together: Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health Journey’.

Event Details

  • Date: Thursday 29th January 2026

  • Time: 8.30am – 9.30am

  • Location: The Globe, Main Campus

  • Who: Open to all DBIS parents (Early Years, Primary and Secondary)

We are incredibly privileged to be joined by four of Hong Kong’s leading practitioners in child and adolescent mental health:

  • Dr Rick Smith – Specialist Psychologist

  • Angela Watkins – Red Door Counselling

  • Dr Scarlett Mattoli – Psynamo

  • Dr Esther Wong – Sprout in Motion

This session is designed to be a practical, conversational deep-dive into the issues that matter most to our families. Rather than a formal lecture, the morning will be a guided Q&A exploring key themes such as:

  • Growing Resilience: Practical ways to help children bounce back from setbacks

  • Navigating Conflict: Strategies for calm, consistent parenting and healthy resolution

  • The Modern Mind: Managing the psychological impact of smartphones and social media

  • Academic Pressure: Balancing the drive for excellence with emotional wellbeing

At DBIS, we believe that promoting strong mental health and meaningful connection is a collaborative journey between school and home. We hope this workshop provides you with valuable insights and a supportive space to explore how we can best nurture our children’s growth together.

Please sign up here by Tuesday 27th January to secure your spot.

Kind regards,

Jessica Hickling
