Pick Up Cards for Home Time

Dear Early Years Families,

To further ensure the safety of your children at home time, we will be enhancing the current system with allocated adults that will collect your child, and we will be issuing you with three pick up cards. This will not replace our current system of informing your child’s class teacher if another adult is collecting your child; for example, if they are going on a playdate. You still need to let your class teacher know this in the morning at drop off or via the office email. This allocated adult will need to have your child’s pick up card.

Process:

  1. Let your child’s class teacher know three allocated adults for ‘regular’ pick up by Wednesday 8th December (Nursery and Reception parents this has already been done)
  2. Monday 3rd January Pick up cards will be given out (Nursery parents you have these)
  3. Tuesday 4th January  Anyone collecting your child will need to use the pick up card.
  4. Always inform your child’s class teacher if someone other than the three ‘regular’ adults from the list are picking up; they will need the pick up card.

If anyone comes to collect your child and they do not have the pick up card, they will have to go to the school office to sign your child out, even if they are on the ‘regular’ pick up list.

We are adding this layer to our system to ensure clarity and safety for all of our children and families.

At home time, please display these cards clearly to adults dismissing your child’s class. Please keep these cards as they will follow your child through school. If you need to replace a card, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Thanks for your support with this.

Kind regards,

The Early Years Team
