Primary & Early Years Discovery Parent Workshop

Thursday 12th September

Dear Parents,

Primary & Early Years Discovery Parent Workshop

Wednesday 2nd October 2019 – 5:30 – 6:30pm – Globe

We would like to invite you on Wednesday 2nd October at 5:30pm in the Globe to explore and enquire into our Discovery Curriculum. This session will give you an insight into our journey from the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) to a more enquiry based approach to learning and then into concept based learning. This has resulted in our most recent curriculum enhancement with the development of our bespoke Discovery Curriculum – a concept based curriculum. This will be an informative and hands on session that will help you better understand Discovery learning by exploring the following guiding questions:

What is the Discovery Curriculum?

Why was the Discovery Curriculum created?

What is Concept Based Curriculum & Instruction (CBCI)?

What is Enquiry Based Learning?

What are the Enquiry Learning Skills?

How is the Discovery Concept Based Curriculum different to Traditional Curriculums?

How is Discovery taught?

How is Discovery assessed?

How do the Learning for Life Personal Goals support the Discovery Curriculum?

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards

Russell Moriarty,

Discovery Curriculum Leader
