Dear Parents,
We are delighted to share information with you regarding your child’s End of Term 1 School Report. Please find your child’s report by logging in to the Parent Portal here.
As in previous years, your child’s attainment is measured against the appropriate Curriculum Standard for the child’s year group expectations and will be reported using the differentiated terms: Working Below (WB), Working Towards (WT), Working At (AT), Working at Greater Depth (GD). In exceptional circumstances, a child may be graded as Significantly Beyond (SB) where they are working at a standard significantly above age-related expectations. Reported levels of attainment relate to the learning objectives that have been covered during Term 1 only.
Curriculum Standards
The Primary Curriculum contains clear expectations in terms of student outcomes in all subjects at the end of each academic year, and these outcomes have been mapped into Curriculum Standards 1 to 6. For example, the curriculum taught in Year 4 is assessed within Curriculum Standard 4. The curriculum taught in Year 6 is Curriculum Standard 6, meaning that the expected Curriculum Standard for the majority of students is the standard relating to the year group they are in. At times, a student may be assessed at a Standard below their current Year Group Standard.
Attitude to Learning Descriptors
Attitude to Learning will be reported as: Exceptional, Commendable, Improving or Improvement Needed for each subject area.
Assessment in Discovery Learning
Our concept-based Discovery units of learning are underpinned with knowledge, skills and understanding from the UK National Curriculum subject areas of Geography, History, Art and Design Technology. Full details of each year group’s Discovery, Mandarin, Music, PE and Learning Technologies units for Term 1 are hyperlinked below.
