  Reception Beach School

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you are aware, DBIS Early Years facilitate the Beach Schools programme, which is an extension of the Forest Schools approach that the children have experienced since Nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to apply their learning in a different context as well as a chance for them to collaborate and problem solve with each other.

We plan to hold our next sessions (weather permitting) on:

  • Castle and Harbour – Tuesday 18th June 2019.

  • Airport, Safari and Garden – Friday 21st June 2019.

Children are to be brought to school as normal and then after registration they will be walked over to the beach to begin their session.  Afterwards we will then walk back to school around 10.30am. A light snack will be provided.

All children are required to wear either trainers/school shoes or croc style shoes. No flip flops/thongs please as toes must be covered. Children should bring their water bottles with them and staff will bring any hats kept at school.

Please ensure sun-screen and bug spray is applied before children come to school.

In order to have an appropriate adult to child ratio, we would like parent volunteers to support the session. If you are keen and able to join us please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Kind regards,

The Early Years Team
