                         Reception Beach School

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you are aware, DBIS Early Years facilitate the Beach Schools programme, which is an extension of the Forest Schools approach that the children have experienced since Nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to apply their learning in a different context as well as a chance for them to collaborate and problem solve with each other. We plan to hold our next session (weather permitting) for all Reception classes on Thursday 23rd May 2019.

Children are to be dropped off at the beach at 8.55am where they will be greeted by their class teachers. They will take part in a beach school session and will then walk back to school around 10.30am. A light snack will be provided.

Could we please ask that in order to help the morning run as smoothly as possible, lunchboxes are dropped off at the Early Years campus.

All children are required to wear either trainers/school shoes or croc style shoes. No flip flops/thongs please as toes must be covered. Children should bring their water bottles with them and staff will bring any hats kept at school.

Please ensure sun-screen and bug spray is applied before dropping children off at the beach.

In order to have an appropriate adult to child ratio, we would like parent volunteers to support the session. If you are keen and able to join us on this date please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Kind regards,

The Early Years Team
