Reminders and Key Dates

Dear Year 3 families,

As we enter the last month of the academic year, we thought it may be helpful to summarise some of the key events happening over the next few weeks for Year 3.

Monday 9th June – Student Council Speeches for Year 3
As part of home learning this week, students are being asked to reflect on the school and think about some suggestions for next year. If your child would like to be considered for the Student Council next year, this is their opportunity to prepare a speech. Speeches will be shared in class on Monday 9th June, with final selections being made by the end of that week.

Friday 20th June – Moving on Up morning
FS-2 to Year 6 visit their new classes to learn about the teacher and friends they will be learning with next year. Student reports and class lists will also be shared with parents after school on this day.

Friday 20th June – Y3AR class assembly
Parent performance in the Globe at 8am – 8.30am. Parents are asked to arrive from 7.45am for coffee, and so that the children may get ready.

Monday 23rd June – Thursday 26th June 2025 – Optional parent–teacher conferences

Please contact class teachers directly to arrange a mutually convenient time if you wish to discuss your child’s report.

Tuesday 24th June 2025 – Celebration of Learning & Onwards and Upwards Ceremony
Parents are invited to visit the Year 3 classrooms from 8am to 9am to celebrate the children’s progress this year. The children will share some learning from their Term 3 unit ‘Active Plane’ and contribute their reflections from the year to a small ‘Onwards and Upwards’ ceremony.

Wednesday 25th June – Shared Lunch
To celebrate the children’s achievements, we would like to host a shared lunch buffet and party between the Year 3 classes. We kindly ask that families bring in an item of food for their child to share. The children have suggested sausage rolls, spring rolls, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, fried rice and fruit, as well as some sweet treats. To minimise food wastage, we would suggest planning for around six children. On the day, we ask that all food is delivered in named boxes, and the children bring in reusable cutlery and a plate to serve themselves.

Friday 27th June 2025 – Last day of Term
EYFS Half Day: 11.30am finish
Y1 – Y6 Half Day: 12pm finish

We look forward to our final month of learning as a year group, and hope these varied activities allow the children to reflect on their successes this year and feel prepared for next year.

Kind regards,

The Year 3 team
