Dear Year 1 Parents,
We are incredibly excited to plan our Year 1 celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, and would love to involve our community in enriching this learning experience.
We are reaching out to parents who celebrate Diwali at home and would be interested in running a short, hands-on activity for our students, for each class, during our Year 1 rotation morning on Friday 17th October.
By sharing your family’s traditions, you give the children an authentic and meaningful insight into this wonderful festival.
Last year’s rotation included stations such as:
- Painting diya lamps
- Sharing stories/traditional tales
- Creating rangoli patterns using chalk outside
- Sharing music or dancing
However, we are always open to other creative and authentic ideas you may have!
