Dear Parents and Carers,
As we look forward to Term 3, we are excited to begin preparations for our upcoming Year 6 STEAM Fair. This unit will see the students take on various engineering and design challenges.
To make these projects a success, we are seeking donations of ‘recyclable modelling’ materials. If you have any of the following items at home, we would be very grateful if you could set them aside for us:
- Cardboard: Cereal boxes, shoe boxes and corrugated cardboard.
- Plastic: Clean plastic bottles (all sizes), margarine tubs and bottle tops.
- Tubes: Kitchen roll inserts (please note: for hygiene reasons, we cannot accept toilet roll inserts).
- Containers: Clean yoghurt pots, egg cartons and Tetra Pak juice/milk cartons.
- Fastenings: Old CDs, corks, string or elastic bands.
Please ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and free from any food residue. It is also essential that there are no dangerous sharp edges (such as jagged metal from tin cans or sharp plastic).
Students are encouraged to bring their collection of items into school on any day after the Easter break. We will have a dedicated storage area ready for all your fantastic donations.
Thank you in advance for your continued support in helping our students bring their scientific and creative ideas to life!
Kind regards,
Mr. Peacock
Head of Year 6
