Dear students
We are pleased to announce that DBIS Book Week starts on Tuesday 19th April. This year Book week will focus around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
During book week, we will be launching the DBIS Readathon. This year DBIS is supporting Bring Me a Book, a local charity that promotes a love of reading and provides libraries of quality books to Hong Kong’s underserved communities. So we would like you all to get sponsored and start reading! The Readathon will continue until 17th May.Â
We would like to thank Amber Wiemerink, Alexia Givron, Beatrice Predieri, Olivia Borduas-Souvertjis, Lucas Bannon, Mack Johnson, Rafael Figueiredo Scalabrin, Liam Whittle and Billy Ng for their dedication and hard work completing a read aloud of a book based on one the SDG. These audios will be available for the younger students to listen to during book week along with other activities around the Sustainable Development Goals and reading in languages, humanities, English and tutor time.
Additionally, it wouldn’t be a DBIS Book Week without a dress up day! On Friday 22nd April we invite you to dress as your favourite book character with the best ones being awarded house points by the House Captains.
We are all very much looking forward to the week.Â
Kind regards,
Ms Hartcher and Mrs Foti
