Dear parents,
To encourage more students to join our Mandarin ECA – HSK club, we now changed both HSK2 and HSK3 clubs to Tuesday lunchtime. Open to all year 8 to year 13 students, including those who are not taking Mandarin lessons. Year 7 students are also welcomed to join the club for study but they are encouraged to take the exam in year 8, so they could be well prepared.
HSK Test (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì 汉语水平考试) is a standardised test of Chinese language proficiency available at six different levels which assesses non-native speakers’ Chinese language skills. As the HSK exam is internationally recognised, your child will have a qualification to showcase his or her Mandarin skills as they move onto their IGCSE studies and beyond.
DBIS is a registered HSK exam centre, so the exam will take place at Discovery Bay International School in May 2020. Detailed information will be sent to you later in term2 if your child decides to take part in the exam.
