DBIS Lost Property
2019 – 2020
❖ Location
❖ Cupboards to the left of the Year 1 covered area at the entrance of the school.
❖ Volunteers
❖ Volunteers can add their names to the roster to suit their schedule. Even one morning
a month 20 – 30 mins of your time, will be most helpful. Please contact Ina 9307 7855
if you would like to assist. We are currently a very small group and would be most
grateful for some extra helping hands.
❖ Collection Points
❖ 5 boxes are located around the school, items found in these boxes will be collected on
a weekly basis and added to the general Lost Property cupboards.
❖ Gymnasium, Secondary School 1 st Floor near lockers, Globe Girl’s Change Room, Globe
Boy’s Change Room and Swimming Pool.
❖ Swimming items will be managed by the Amah team as Mrs Chambers has arranged.
(Swimming box to be checked once a week, leave all swim caps and goggles at the pool
deck in the Lost Property box. Swimming costumes and towels will be washed, dried
and sent to the general Lost Property area by the Amah team)
❖ Library – blue cubicles outside will be labelled Lost Property.
❖ Monday, Wednesday, Friday Mornings
❖ Volunteers and allocated Secondary students will collect, sort and hang items neatly.
❖ Date new clothing items coming in with a coloured sticker.
❖ Sort items longer than 3 weeks into ‘Items for Washing’ and ‘Donate’ boxes. If missing
items are not claimed within 3 weeks, they will be passed on to the PTSA for second-
hand uniform sales, other items will be donated.
❖ Aiming for 1 parent and 2 students each M, W, F morning. Roughly 20 minutes anytime
between 7:00-8:30.
❖ Communication is run via a small Whatsapp Group.
❖ Volunteers add their names to the roster to suit their schedule.
❖ All Students
❖ What you bring to school must be taken home.
❖ If you have misplaced something, take responsibility and check the Lost Property
cupboards before or after school, snack or lunchtimes.
❖ Keep checking, sometimes items show up a few days later.
❖ Don’t leave things lying around and expect someone else to pick them up.
❖ All Parents
❖ Please label ALL items that come to school.
❖ Encourage your children to take care of their belongings.
❖ Please check your child’s items with them from time to time, we really need to reduce
the mountains of Lost Property at DBIS.
❖ Uniform donated for Second-Hand Sales is to be placed in the PTSA Box at the side
entrance to the Globe or handed in at the office, not put in the Lost Property cupboards
please.
❖ All Teachers
❖ Please encourage students to take care of their belongings.
❖ Relay the Lost Property system notices to your classes.
❖ Camp Lost Property – please arrange to deal with this at camp before returning to
school, as far as possible please avoid placing bags of wet sandy items in the
cupboards.
