Welcome to Term 3 in Year FS-1

Dear Families,

Welcome back! We are thrilled to be able to welcome the children to embark upon the final term of the academic year. We hope you and your family had a wonderful and restful Easter break and are ready for an action-packed Term 3.

In Discovery this term, the children will explore ‘Sharing the Planet’, where we will learn about sharing our planet with people, plants and animals that all grow and change. We will look at how we have a role to play in our world and reflect on our responsibility to take care of and appreciate our planet. The children will also explore the unit of ‘Let’s Pretend!’, where they will explore storytelling and how they can act out or retell stories in different ways.

For further details of the whole curriculum for this year, please see the Curriculum Handbook linked below:

Thank you to all of the families who have signed up to be mystery readers or share a cultural celebration with their class. Having a mystery reader is always a highlight for the children. Class teachers will post new sign-up sheets for Term 3. For families unable to sign up in person but who wish to do so, please contact your child’s class teacher to express your interest.

FS -1 Celebration of Learning and Art Exhibition

On Tuesday 30th April, we will celebrate the children’s learning and hold an art exhibition in FS -1 at 9.15am. This will showcase the children’s learning and understanding from Term 2, especially related to our Magical Marks topic.

Please find here other Key Dates for FS-1.

Term 1 for next academic year (2024-25) will commence on Monday 19th August 2024. Both Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th of August will be half days, with the children going home at 12pm for Parent–Teacher conferences to take place.

Thank you for continuing to engage with your child’s learning. This will be a fantastic term full of learning for Year FS-1. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Best wishes,

The FS-1 Team
