Welcome to Term 3 – Year 10

Dear Year 10 Parents and Students,

As we look forward to Term 3, I wish to take a moment to acknowledge the remarkable growth and contributions of our Year 10 students in Term 2. It has been inspiring to witness their enthusiastic involvement in a wide range of school activities.

Their participation in the Chinese New Year celebrations was a highlight, with Year 10 students playing a significant role in both the band and the captivating lion dance. Furthermore, many students demonstrated impressive resilience and determination during the AYP silver hike. I also deeply appreciate the numerous Year 10s who volunteered their time and energy to make the International Food Fair a resounding success, both through their help and their musical performances. It was truly heartening to witness so many students being acknowledged by their teachers for their diverse achievements during our final assembly of Term 2. Year 10 students are encouraged to consistently update their personal branding portfolios, ensuring that all their accomplishments, such as those mentioned above, are documented. This ongoing process will not only contribute to their development as confident young individuals but also provide them with a good record to refer to in the future.

The initial phase of student leadership has commenced with the appointment of Year 10 and 11 House Captains. While only eight students were appointed as House Captains, the application process itself provided valuable experience for many more, prompting them to consider the skills and experiences needed for their future resumes. Looking ahead, we want to highlight that a range of additional leadership opportunities will become available specifically for Year 11 students next year.

Now, as we embark on Term 3, we have a number of key dates we would like you to note in your calendars:

  • 29 April 2025: Mindfulness Workshop (information sent separately)

Please be reminded that information regarding the upcoming mock examinations has been sent to you separately. To further support your child during this period, a mindfulness workshop will be held on 29th April, next Tuesday. Details about this workshop have also been communicated via a separate email and will be available in a separate bulletin.

Following the mock exams, we have planned a relaxed and meaningful half-day visit to the Crossroads Foundation, offering an opportunity for our students to engage in service. More details about this, as well as a careers workshop scheduled during school hours, will be shared closer to the dates.

Finally, we have noticed that some students are still wearing the old school uniform. As a reminder, please be aware that the old school uniform and the house uniform will no longer be permitted from next academic year. We advise you to purchase the new uniform before the end of Term 3.

We look forward to another productive and enriching term for our Year 10 students.

Best regards,

Amrith Prabhu
