Dear Year 7 Parents and Guardians,
I hope that you all had a restful break. It has been wonderful to welcome our Year 7 students back to school for what promises to be a busy and exciting Term 3, and one which has already started with a bang with some wonderful contributions to Book Week from our year group.
The students are working hard in preparation for their upcoming end-of-year assessments, and we encourage them to maintain a healthy balance between study, rest and exercise to ensure their overall wellbeing.
This final term of Year 7 is packed with opportunities for academic growth and personal development. To help you stay organised, please find below some important dates for your diary:
6 – 9 May: Year 7–9 end-of-year assessments
10 June: Year 7 PTSC
11 June: STEAM Day
17 June: Secondary awards ceremony
23 June: Discovery Project Showcase 2 (provisional)
27 June: End of school year, half day
Further details about these events will be sent to you closer to the date.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our protocols regarding absence from school and encourage you to use the jotform on the hub to report any unexpected absences or expected absences from school. As we enter Term 3, it has been wonderful to see Year 7 maintain high standards in following our school uniform policy, but I would like to remind you that nails should be natural and appropriate for school, particularly when students are taking part in sporting activities.
Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s form tutor or myself if you have any questions or concerns throughout the term. We value your partnership in your child’s education and look forward to a successful final term of Year 7 together.
Best wishes,
Louise Tyrrell
Head of Year 7
