Wonton Making Activity in Chinese Lesson

Dear Year 5 Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the Year of the Dragon, we have an exciting activity planned for our Y5 students. On Monday, 5th February, during their Mandarin lesson, they will have the opportunity to make Wonton. The shape of wontons, when folded, resembles gold ingots, which symbolize wealth and abundance. They are believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the coming year.

Below are the ingredients in the Wonton (purchased from a special dumpling shop):

Pork, cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, sugar

If your child has allergies or prefers to opt out of the activity, please contact their classroom teacher. We will make alternative arrangements for them during that time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. We appreciate your support, and we wish you an early Happy Chinese New Year.

Thank you,

Mandarin Team
