Y3 Home Learning Guidance

Dear parents,

We just wanted to reach out and contact you during these tricky times, whether you are still here in Hong Kong or have travelled abroad. We hope you are all safe and that spirits are high.
These few weeks have and will continue, to present several challenges as our regular routines have been interrupted. However, we wanted to thank you for your efforts (and adaptability) in encouraging your children to continue with their learning.
For those of you who have not had the chance to direct your children towards their activities, the primary base for their daily lessons is on Google classroom, via the post labelled ‘Y3 Home Learning slides’. The link for these is also provided HERE.
These slides contain the instructions for daily reading, spelling, maths, writing and discovery lessons. The activities are all hyperlinked to sites including FlipGrid, SeeSaw, Read Theory, Manga High and Spelling Shed. With the exception of FlipGrid, these are all sites that the children have confidently accessed before. If they are unsure, their passwords are in their diary.
For anyone struggling for a device, you can request to borrow your child’s school Chrome Book by completing the jotform HERE. If you have any technical issues after this, please contact the school’s IT Team at  [email protected].
We appreciate this is a unique period of time for all of us, but every measure has been taken to offer the children access to the learning they would have experienced had they still been in school. Supporting your child to create new routines by setting aside a regular block of time to access these lessons is encouraged. Taking regular breaks, and prioritising English and Maths learning can help alleviate some of the pressure on everyone, so please do be mindful of the need to get away from the computer screen and the importance of play.
Thank you again for your efforts it is hugely appreciated and will make a valuable difference. If you do have questions we are online each day during school hours and will aim to respond to you (and your child’s uploaded work) promptly.
Kind regards,
The Year 3 team
