Dear Year 1 Families,
This half term, Year 1 have been immersing themselves into the lives of significant explorers within our unit ‘Cartography: Our World on Paper’. We have been comparing maps of the past and present and understanding how these visual representations helped explorers to succeed around the world.
We will be using our knowledge to become map makers by creating our very own maps of our local beach in Discovery Bay on Tuesday 19th March 2024!
Trip Details
8.45am: Leave school.
9.00am: Map making in small groups
9.30am: Snack at the beach
9.45am: Return to school
All children should wear PE kit and trainers. Please provide a small bag for the children to carry their snack and water bottle to the beach.
