Year 1 Open Evening for FS-2 Families

Dear FS-2 Families

Whilst your child is only half way through their year in FS-2, it is important that we look ahead to the transition they will make to Year 1 once they finish their time in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The transition between FS-2 and Year 1 is a significant one as your child will complete the EYFS curriculum and begin the Key Stage 1 curriculum. Furthermore, they will move to our Main Campus, which is a much larger campus to that which they are used to.

As the year progresses, your child will experience many opportunities that are designed to facilitate smooth transitions. An important part of the transition process is working in partnership with our families so you are as informed as possible about the changes your child will experience when they move into Year 1; this will support conversations that may arise at home.

With this in mind, you are invited to attend a Year 1 Open Evening, which will include three sessions:

  • A presentation about the curriculum and learning experience in Year 1, including the similarities and differences between EYFS and Key Stage 1;
  • A tour of our Main Campus, including visits to the the specialist learning areas such as our Discovery lab and swimming pool;
  • An opportunity to visit our Year 1 learning environments.

In order to help us plan for the event, please complete the jotform below to register your attendance. You will also have the opportunity to add any questions which we will endeavour to address as part of the event.
