Dear Year 10 Parents,Â
I am writing to inform you that the Year 10 mock examination week will be taking place from Monday 17th May to Wednesday 26th.
The format of these exams will give students a chance to experience how a formal exam series feels, and will serve as an opportunity for subject teachers to assess students on the content covered so far in the course. This will be followed by a report cycle to feedback your child’s attainment at this stage.
During the examination week, students will be placed on ‘study leave’, meaning that they are only expected to be on-site at the times that they are sitting an exam. If students do not have an exam in the second session, they will be expected to leave the school site and continue their preparations at home.
On days when students have an exam in both the first and second session, students will remain on site between the two exams in a supervised study area.
Format for exam week
- There are 2 exam sessions per day
- Students will have an exam in every subject apart from Art and BTEC – a timetable with timings for the subject exams will be released to parents and students next week.
- Students who have examinations during the first session should arrive at school at the normal time (before 08:00) so that temperature checks can be conducted, as per typical arrangements
- On days when students just have a second session exam, they will need to arrive 20 minutes before the start of their exam in order to complete temperature checks and registration.Â
- Registration (along with signing out) will take place with Joey at Secondary reception upon entering the and leaving the school site.Â
Between now and the start of the exam week, students will prepare a revision timetable, and should be using homework time to carry out guided revision.Â
If you have any questions regarding the mock exam process, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].Â
Best regards,
Mr Nicholas Moore
(Head of Year 10)
