Dear Year 10 Parents and Guardians,
I would like to warmly invite you to our upcoming Year 10 Parent–Teacher–Student Conference (PTSC), which will take place on Thursday 16th May 2024.
This event allows you to meet with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress, goals, and concerns. It is a valuable chance to establish open lines of communication and work together to support your child’s academic journey at DBIS Secondary School.
Details of the conference evening are as follows:
Date: Thursday 16th May 2024
Connecting with teachers: Two options will be available to communicate with teachers:
- Online conferences via Google Meet (only between 4.30pm and 5.30pm)
- In-person conferences in the Globe Theatre (only between 5.45pm and 8pm)
During the conference evening, you can meet individually with each of your child’s subject teachers. These meetings will provide insights into your child’s attitude to learning, classroom behaviour, and areas of strength and development. Please note that each meeting will be at most five minutes long to ensure that all parents can meet with teachers. All students are required to attend the evening with their parents.
To facilitate a smooth and efficient conference evening, please sign up for time slots with your child’s subject teachers and keep to the timetabled slots. We have an online scheduling system to help you register for preferred meeting times. Please follow the instructions below to sign up:
Please note that the scheduling system will be available from Friday 3rd May until Tuesday 14th May. We encourage you to book meetings as soon as possible to secure your preferred time slots.
We highly encourage your presence at the PTSC evening as your involvement and collaboration are vital to your child’s educational success. We also encourage your child to be present so that the conversations are transparent and collaborative between parent, teacher and student. By working together, we can ensure your child receives the necessary support and guidance to thrive academically and emotionally.
