Year 10 Summer Assessments 2020-21

Dear Year 10 Parents and Students,

Looking ahead to the coming months, the first set of internal assessments for our Year 10 students are now on the horizon. Due to pandemic-led disruption and recent examination developments for more senior year groups, it is not yet clear exactly what format the Year 10 Summer assessments will take. However, students can expect to be sitting assessments in all subjects. At present, these are scheduled to commence from 17th May, however we will provide supplementary details regarding the arrangements and the finalised dates for these in due course. Please therefore treat this date as provisional until we release the official timeframe to you shortly after our return.

Whilst rest, recuperation and outdoor activity is essential over the Easter break, students should also be using this time to begin the process of consolidating their learning in all of their subjects. This may take the format of reviewing and condensing notes, creating mind maps or revision mats, making flash cards, using websites such as bitesize revision, and attempting exam-style questions.

Some subjects have already begun to prepare our students with revision materials that should be completed over the Easter break. Student can expect other subjects to give our more explicit revision instruction in the first week back after Easter.

Thank you for all of your support and hard work so far, and I hope you enjoy a well earned break at some point over the next two weeks.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Moore

(Head of Year 10)
