Welcome to Term 3 – Year 11

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

As we begin Term 3, the final term of the academic year, we would like to thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. 

I hope that the Easter break has allowed for some rest and recuperation before we enter what is now the ‘final straight’ for Year 11. 

This term is crucial as students prepare for their end-of-year examinations and final assessments. 

Below are key updates and reminders to ensure a successful and productive term.

 

Examination Schedule & Preparation

(I)GCSE exams will take place on the Main Campus. A detailed timetable has been shared with students, and a copy can be found here.

Encourage consistent revision and time management to avoid last-minute cramming.

Ensure your child attends all scheduled classes and revision sessions.

Important Dates

The Last Day of School for Year 11s will be Wednesday 30th AprilStudents will attend lessons 1 – 4 as normal and then join me, tutors and SLT for their final Year 11 assembly.

Parents are invited to join via a livestream feed.  The assembly will begin at 2pm.

 

The Secondary Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 17th June in the Globe. Students who will receive awards will be notified shortly with details of the time and venue.

 

The Year 11 Celebration Evening will be held at the Auberge Hotel on Tuesday 17th June from 6pm – 10pm. 

The evening’s details are:

Pre-dinner drinks at the Bounty Bar, where parents are invited to join from 6pm – 7pm. A cash bar will be available for parents.

Dinner for students only from 7pm – 10pm

Dress code: Formal

The cost for the evening is HK$500 per student.

 

School Expectations During Exams

Punctuality and full attendance are mandatory, especially during exam periods. All students are expected to be on site 20 minutes before each exam.

Students are to sign in at the Secondary Office (with Joey).

School uniform and code of conduct remain in effect throughout the exam period.

 

Year 11 – 12 Transition Day

Students who are continuing at DBIS will be invited back to school to take part in a Sixth Form Transition Day.

This will be held on Friday 20th June 2025.
