Year 12 Activity Programme 31st May – 2nd June

Dear Parents and Guardians of Year 12,

I am writing to you with details of the Year 12 activity programme which will take place on Wednesday 31st May to Friday 2nd June.  The details are as follows:

Wednesday 31st May

Students will take part in a series of practical activities and workshops at the North Plaza campus, run by DBIS staff and external providers. These include:

  • Introduction to financial management;
  • Practical skills – how to iron a shirt, sew on a button, how to dress for interviews;
  • Cooking and nutrition (presented by our school caterer, Chartwells);
  • Basic first aid and CPR (workshops run by T8 First Response);
  • CV writing and interview skills.

Thursday 1st June

Trip to Crossroads in Tuen Mun to take part in their Struggle for Survival Global X-perience. This is a simulation activity which highlights the struggles and intricacies of the poverty web.

Students will then return to North Plaza in the afternoon to reflect on the activity and plan service opportunities for next academic year.

Friday 2nd June

Trip to CityU in Kowloon Tong. At CityU we will be given a campus tour, find out more about the university admissions process and take part in some taster lectures.

The cost for the three days will be HK$600. This will cover the cost of transport to and from Tuen Mun and Kowloon Tong, the visit to Crossroads and the first aid training from T8 First Response.

If you are paying by cash, please pass this to Erica at the North Plaza reception or Joey at the Main Campus reception, or you can pay via bank transfer to our HSBC account 111-459624-001.

Please state your child’s name and send in the transfer receipt to [email protected] for our records.

We hope that it will be an enjoyable and valuable few days for our students after their examinations.

Best wishes,

Louise Tyrrell
