Dear Families,Â
As part of our Discovery unit ‘What Lies Beyond’, the Year 2 children will explore Discovery Bay and use their Geography skills to visit multiple checkpoints in our local community. They will then return to school for an exciting sleepover in the school library.Â
The information below gives an outline of the DBIS excursion and school sleepover. However, there will be a parent briefing in the Globe Theatre at 8am on Wednesday 21st May to provide all Year 2 families with further information and to answer any questions you may have.Â
The DBIS excursion and school sleepover will take place on Thursday 12th June. It will start with a walking trip around Discovery Bay and finish back at the Primary Campus, ready for the children’s sleepover in the library.Â
To ensure a safe and well-supervised day trip around DB, the children will be divided into groups of six, with two adult volunteers per group. We would ask volunteers to be available for the trip from 1.45pm – 4pm on Thursday 12th June. We will need eight volunteers per class—a huge thank you for your support in advance! Please email or sign up outside your child’s classroom if you would like to join us.
A parent volunteer briefing will be conducted at approximately 12.30pm on Thursday 12th June, prior to the trip departure. We require that each volunteer attend the briefing, as it will contain important safety information for the day and an opportunity to ask questions.Â
On the day, the children will have the opportunity to cool down with a cold snack in the South Plaza. They will be required to use their money-counting skills to select and pay for an ice lolly or cold drink at 7-Eleven, so please ensure your child has HK$30 in their bag in small denominations (any coin or note varieties welcome).Â
Permission to attend and information regarding the trip (dietary requirements, medical information, sleeping notes etc.) will be collected via the SchoolsBuddy app in due course.Â
