Dear Year 2 Families,
On Wednesday 5th November Year 2 will visit Kadoorie Farm as part of our Discovery unit ‘Brilliant Botanists‘. We have been studying plants, seeds, botany, minibeasts and other living things, and this trip will offer the children real-life experiences to consolidate their learning.
Students are to arrive at school at the normal time of 8.25 am, and buses will depart at approximately. 9.15 am. The children will have their snack at the farm, explore the amazing wildlife on offer, enjoy their lunch, and then depart Kadoorie Farm at 1.45 pm.Â
Thank you for already giving permission at the start of the year for all local trips in Hong Kong.Â
The cost of the trip will be HK$100 per child, which includes entrance to the farm and transportation.Â
Payments must be made by Wednesday 29th October for your child to attend. Please submit payments of cash or cheque (payable to Discovery Bay International School) to the main office. If you wish to pay via bank transfer, please use the following details:

On the day, children will need to wear PE kit and take a bag which they can independently carry. In their bag they will need:
- Packed lunch
- DBIS school hat
- Snack
- Water bottleÂ
- Sunscreen (if appropriate)
- Mosquito repellent (if appropriate)Â
We will require six parent helpers per class to support us with this exciting trip. A parent sign-up sheet will be made available by your class teacher on Monday 13th October. If an ample number of parents volunteer, then names will be chosen from a hat.
