Year 3 – Celebration of Learning

Dear Year 3 families,

We are delighted to invite you to the Year 3 Celebration of Learning morning on Friday 8th December between 8.45am and 9.30am in your child’s classroom.

In our current unit, we have been exploring the life and times of people who have changed the world, and the children would love to share their learning with you.

Parent visits to class: 8th Dec 8.45am – 9.30am
On the day of the celebration, parents are invited to join the children in their classrooms to share their learning. You will be able to see some diary writing, meet and greet various historical figures and enjoy some activities led by your children.

Dress up
To help the children get in role effectively, and bring the event to life, we would be grateful if your child could arrange a small outfit or prop they could bring in to represent their chosen person. This should not be extravagant; a little can go a long way in the creative minds of children! For example, a striped T-shirt and a paintbrush = Picasso!

Second-hand sale: 8th Dec 3.10pm – 4.00pm
Following the visit from the charity ‘Hands on Hong Kong’, many of the children wanted to take action and make a change themselves. As such, they have been working with teachers to organise a sale to raise funds to support others within Hong Kong. We kindly ask for your help to gather any old toys and games in good condition and send them to your class teacher by Tuesday 5th December.

Should your child wish to stay after school to volunteer with the sale, please complete the attached jotform by Friday 1st December, or as soon as possible.

Volunteering opportunities with Hands on Hong Kong throughout November and December
Some children were very motivated to be involved in volunteering within the wider community, and being ‘significant’ in their own way. Please find here a list of family-focused volunteering opportunities you may wish to sign up for.

Thank you so much for your support this term, and we look forward to opening our classrooms and celebrating the children’s learning on 8th December.

Best wishes,
The Year 3 team.
