Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of the exciting news that the Year 4 students will be undertaking a school trip to the Hong Kong Museum of Art. This experience will kick-start our new Discovery unit of inquiry ‘Visual Representation’ and support the children with interpreting art.
Classes will go in pairs to visit the museum on the following days:
- Monday 8th September 2025: 4KB & 4RP
- Tuesday 9th September 2025: 4EJ & 4CG
Drop-off and dismissal
We will be taking ferries to get to the museum.
Please can we ask you to drop your child off by 8.15am at the DB ferry terminal on the date of their trip. They will need an Octopus card topped up with a minimum of HK$70 on it. This will cover the cost of the ferry to and from Pier 3 as well as the Star Ferry to and from TST.
We will be taking the 8.30am ferry, so we will not be able to wait for any late arrivals.
We will arrive back at school before the end of the school day; therefore, dismissal will be normal arrangements.
Snack and lunch
We will be eating a snack outside the museum, so please prepare a substantial morning snack.
We will be eating lunch when we return to school.
Please note we will arrive back at school later than lunchtime, so a canteen lunch will not be available on this day. Please provide your child with a packed lunch on this day.
Uniform
Please send the children to school in their regular uniform.
Permission
As you have given consent for your child to attend local trips in the Parent Information Form 2025–26, your child will be able to attend this experience. If you are unsure if you have completed this form, please check with your child’s class teacher.
Parent helpers
We would love the support of parents and we are looking for three parents from each class to join us on the day. Please let your class teacher know by Friday 29th August 2025 if you can help out. You will need to pay for your own Star Ferry trip, but we will give you a card for the Discovery Bay ferry trip.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher.
Kind regards,
The Year 4 Team
