Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Year 5 to 8 House Sports Day at Kwai Chung Sports Ground on Thursday 26th February.
Throughout the day, the students will be competing in a variety of athletics (track and field) events with which they are familiar from their PE lessons. All students will take part in exciting house activities, and we encourage you to review the programme link for specific timings of the day’s events.
Travel and Logistics
Students should arrive at school in their PE kits, ready to register with their class or form teachers at their normal school registration times. We will then travel by bus to Kwai Chung Sports Ground for the remainder of the school day, aiming to return to DBIS at 3.30pm. Please note that this is slightly later than the normal school day, and appropriate planning should be made to collect your child at this time if needed.
Bus Information
-
Tung Chung Bus: Due to the later finish, an additional Tung Chung school bus will be provided. This bus will leave directly from Kwai Chung Sports Ground and drop students at their usual destinations. If this affects your child, more detailed information will follow nearer the time.
-
South Lantau Bus: Students who usually take the South Lantau bus will return to DBIS on the school bus and should be collected from the school accordingly.
What to Wear and Bring
Students should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. Please ensure that students bring a healthy lunch and ample healthy snacks so they are properly fuelled for their events. All students must bring their DBIS sunhat and wear sunscreen as appropriate.
Spectators
Your support makes all the difference at events like these, so we welcome parents who can join us to arrive from 9am. The final events are due to finish at around 2.30pm and will be followed by a short presentation and school photo.
We look forward to a fantastic day of sport and seeing you there.
Kind regards,
Emily Hull & James Lugg
Director of Sport & Head of PE
