Year 5 Central Walking Tour Trip

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am pleased to inform you that Year 5 will be going on a walking tour around Central and Admiralty:

Wednesday 29th November – Y5RE

Thursday 30th November – Y5CG

Monday 4th December – Y5TS

Wednesday 6th December – Y5SM

The purpose of the trip is to give the children the opportunity to learn more about the history of key buildings in Hong Kong and develop a deeper appreciation for how Hong Kong Island has changed over the years. The children will then apply this learning in school, before showcasing their understanding in a Celebration of Learning in Term 2. The walking tour will be led by an experienced guide from Walk Hong Kong.

Each class will depart from school on their respective days after registration at 8.30am in order to board the 9.10am ferry to Central. The children will then be taken to the General Post Office, where the tour will commence. The children will have their snacks and lunch on the trip. We kindly ask that the children bring their snacks and lunch with them as there will not be an opportunity to purchase refreshments on the day. Year 5 will board the 2.10pm ferry back to Discovery Bay in time for ECAs and buses.

What to wear: Regular school uniform, hat, umbrella/coat

What to bring: Snack, packed lunch, suncream, Octopus card for ferry travel
