Year 5 ‘Synergy in Science’ Trip to Disneyland

Dear Parents

On Wednesday 8th May, we will be taking the Year 5 Students to Disneyland. The purpose of this trip is to give the children the opportunity to see live performances and gain a greater depth of understanding. During our Discovery Unit for the Year 5 Show, our conceptual lense is 'Relationships' and the children will be studying the concepts of Performance, Production and Meaning. Whilst at Disneyland, the children will take part in their educational programme of 'Synergy in Science'. We hope that this session will give the children a better understanding of how the different elements within a show or performance need to come together to make the 'whole' better than its parts. It will also be a wonderful way to incorporate some of their STEAM learning into our Year 5 show (please see the attachment which explains the sessions objectves in greater detail).

I think you’ll agree that this promises to be a very exciting and unique opportunity for the children!

If you are available to volunteer for this trip, please do let me know, we would like at least 2 adults from each class to join us (please note that you will have to pay for entry to the park yourself however). Please email me directly at [email protected] if you can be a parent volunteer on this day.

Information about timings and other requirements can be found on CHQ.

We hope that all our Year 5 students will be able to join us for this truly magical field trip! However, if your child is unable to attend, please let me know by Monday 6th May, so I can finalise the numbers. Also, please could you contact me if your child has any particular dietary requirements that we are not already aware of.

Thank you in advance for your support with this experience.

Kind regards,

Rachel Ashcroft
