Year 5 ‘Water Walk’ Trip
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Year 5 will be visiting the South Plaza Beach as part of their ‘Full Power’ unit of Discovery. They will consider what life would be like without limitless clean water and explore what some people have to go through when they do not have the luxury of electricity and running water in their homes. They will show themselves to be collaborative learners as they are tasked with carrying water through an obstacle course on the beach to gain greater empathy for the many people around the world who need to travel to access water.
Excursion Date: Wednesday 30th August
Excursion Time: 8.30am – 10am
What to Wear: We ask that the children come to school in their PE kit on this day
What to Bring: Hat, water bottle and sunscreen; we have child-friendly mosquito spray at school, but if you would prefer to use your own, then please pack this too
For this trip to go ahead, we ask for a couple of parents per class to accompany us. Please contact your child’s class teacher via Seesaw or through the Student Diary if you are interested in joining us.
The children will eat their snacks when they return to school. Normal school day timings/drop-off and pick-up arrangements apply.
We look forward to an exciting and learning-filled morning.
