Year 6 Creative Arts Morning 28.08.19 ‘The Greatest Showman’ overarching theme

Creative Arts Morning – Year 6 ‘The Greatest Showman’ overarching theme

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to inform you that next Wednesday 28.08.19, we will be running a Creative Arts Morning with Year 6 students. The aim of the Creative Arts Mornings is to allow the children to cultivate a deeper and more discrete exposure to the Creative Arts within our curriculum, and to further explore and develop their skills in the four disciplines of Art, Drama, Dance and Music.

The Y6 Creative Arts Morning will be based on the overarching theme of ‘The Greatest Showman’; exploring a non-exhaustive mix of ideas such as Inclusiveness, Circus and Loyalty. Students will explore one of four disciplines for the duration of the morning, They will develop their skills and perform via music, art, dance or drama. Everyone will come together again at the end to share and celebrate their learning.

Your child’s regular school timetable will be collapsed during the Creative Arts morning from 8:30 am – 12:15 pm. The children are invited to come to school in their PE kits for the morning and stay in them if they have PE in the afternoon.

Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Creative Arts Department should you have any questions regarding this exciting and enriching opportunity for your children.

Kind regards,

Amy MacKay (Drama), Scott Welcomme (Music), Kaytie Harding (Dance), Natasha Johnstone and Nilangi Thottawatte (Art), Daniela Poon, Kat Shaw (Creative Arts EA)
