Year 6 Wetlands Trip – Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th November

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Year 6 Wetlands Trip

I am pleased to inform you that Year 6 will be going on a school trip to the WWF Mai Po Wetlands on Wednesday 26th November (Y6MP and Y6SK) and Thursday 27th November (Y6RA and Y6HK). Children will leave school at approximately 8am and leave Mai Po Wetlands at 12.15pm, after eating lunch.

This trip links to our Discovery units ‘Ecosystems’ and ‘Migration’, and to our English unit linked to the book Meadowlands.

For the trip, the students will be visiting the WWF Mai Po Wetlands to uncover the significance of wetlands to humans and wildlife through sensory exploration and interactive games, whilst also learning to appreciate various wetland habitats.

On the day of your child’s trip, we ask them to be at school no later than 7.50am and to wear their PE kit. Please apply sunscreen and mosquito repellent before school. Children will need to bring:

  • A snack and packed lunch
  • A hat
  • A water bottle
  • Light rain jacket
  • Wellies/gum boots/walking boots (plus trainers to change into for the bus)

Payment

The trip costs HK$70 per child. This is payment for the bus only; there is no fee for visiting the Mai Po Wetlands. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

All cheques should be made payable to ‘Discovery Bay International School Ltd.’

Online bank transfer is also accepted, provided that the transfer slip and student information are emailed to the accounts office ([email protected]) for reconciliation purposes.

Bank details are as follows:
