Year 7 End-of-Year Bulletin

Year 7 End of Year Bulletin

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we come to the end of another academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of our Year 7 students. I am very happy that Year 7 students were able to spend the full year in school with no covid disruption. Enabling them to fully enjoy secondary school life.

Year 7 students have demonstrated their commitment to learning, their ability to collaborate effectively with others, and their leadership potential. They have also shown a strong sense of responsibility towards themselves, others, and the environment. This was clearly demonstrated on our week without walls trip where students were outside of their comfort zone and all flourished in different ways.

As we prepare for the next academic year, I would like to remind parents and students that Year 7  is an important year in their academic journey. It is the first year of their Secondary schooling. It is a time when students begin to focus on their future goals and make important decisions about their education and career paths.

Over the summer break, Year 7 students are encouraged to take some time to reflect on their academic achievements and set goals for the coming year. This is an important time for students to think about their strengths and areas for improvement and to plan how they will continue to grow and develop as learners. We also encourage students to use this time to read and engage in other academic activities to prepare themselves for the challenges of Year 8.

The new academic year is set to begin on August 17th, 2023, and students will be warmly welcomed back to school on this day. They will have the opportunity to meet their new teachers and classmates, and engage in exciting activities. We are pleased to announce that Mr. James Lugg will be the new Head of Year 8. He has been a year 7 tutor this year and is well-versed in the pastoral and academic wellbeing of the students, particularly as a Physical Education Teacher. He is enthusiastic and energised to commence the new academic year with the students.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind students and parents to review the school’s uniform expectations and required school equipment, as outlined in the secondary parent handbook. It is important that everyone is aware of these expectations to ensure a smooth start to the new academic year.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Year 7 students a restful and enjoyable summer break. It has been a pleasure and honour to be their Head of Year this academic year and I wish them all the success in their future studies. We look forward to seeing them back at school on 17th August 2023, ready to continue their academic journey.

Best regards,

Karina Johnson
