Dear Year 9 Parents and Carers,
I am pleased to inform you that our Year 9 students have a fantastic opportunity to apply their learning from the Geometry unit of Mathematics to a real-world scenario. The Mathematics team will take the students to the Big Buddha, where they will work in small groups to solve problems related to area, volume and measurements. From calculating the circumference of the Big Buddha to using similar triangles to determine the height of Lantau Peak, students will enjoy a hands-on experience that demonstrates their ability to transfer classroom skills to real-life challenges.
