Carpenter’s Cabin in FS-1

Dear FS-1 Families, 

Next week FS-1 will start to use the ‘Carpenter’s Cabin’ in school. For the first few sessions, the focus will be on how we can stay safe in this new environment.

These will be the guidelines that we will be exploring initially:

1. Are you wearing closed-toe shoes?
2. Always wear protective glasses.
3. Handle the tools with care.
4. Gather your resources and tools. 
5. Tidy your area, returning resources safely and carefully before leaving the woodwork area.
6. Use the magnet to ensure all the nails are off the floor. 
7. Think of an idea – what could you make?
8. Save your design – we will work on this more next time. 

Over the first few weeks,  we will be focusing on the core skills and building strength; therefore, we will not be in a position to share photographs. Initially, designs will be kept in school as ongoing projects.
