EY2 Beach Excursion

Dear EY2 Families,

The week after next is our DBIS ‘Outdoor Learning Week’ where we will be exploring some of our learning in the outdoor environment.

On Monday 1st November, EY2 will be heading to the beach to explore a range of Maths and Writing challenges.

We are asking for 5 or 6 parent helpers per class to accompany the children to the beach this day. We will leave school at 10:30am and return at approximately 12:45pm. The children will need to bring their hat and water bottle to school. On this day, the children can come to school in their P.E kits. If it is cold, they will need warm layers and if it is sunny, we kindly ask that you apply sun cream before they come to school. If your child is prone to mosquito or sand fly bites, please also apply bug spray in the morning. We will also take some spray with us. Please inform your child’s class teacher if you would prefer them not to have bug spray applied at school.

If you are interested in accompanying us on this trip, please sign up on the sheets outside our classrooms. The sign ups will be available on Monday 25th October. If more parents sign up that are needed, we will pull names out of a hat. Priority will be given to parents who have not yet accompanied us on a trip this year.

Please note that all parent helpers need to have completed the Self Declaration for Sexual Convictions Check and acknowledge they have read the Code of Conduct and the DBIS Child Protection policy before the trip. Please follow the link here to take you to the form.

We will also need to see evidence that each parent volunteer has been fully Covid vaccinated as we can only allow fully vaccinated staff to accompany us on our trip. We kindly ask for you to show Emily Sharman proof that you have been fully vaccinated and ensure that you have signed the Code of Conduct by this Wednesday 28th October at the latest.

If you have any queries about any of the above, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Kind regards,

The EY2 Team
