Dear Parents,
On Friday 24th June, all children from Reception to Year 5 will participate in a special ‘Moving On Up Morning’ where they will meet their new teacher, educational assistant, and the class friends who they will be learning with next year. The purpose of the morning is to alleviate anxieties and help the children to familiarise themselves with their new learning environment as they make this exciting step forward in their DBIS learning journey.
As you are aware, many considerations go into the class mixing process, and we are delighted to guarantee that your child has been placed with at least one friend from the list you communicated with us in May. You will receive a copy of your child’s new class list on Friday 24th June along with their end-of-year report in the Parent Portal. We politely inform you that requests for children to move classes will not be accommodated.
You do not need to make any special arrangements for your child as the transition activities will take place during the normal school day on Friday 24th June.
Departing Students
We recognise that this is also a special time for our children who will be departing DBIS at the end of this year; therefore, those who are not returning after the Summer will join Ms Coote, Mrs Walter and Mrs Christiansen during this time for a special celebration of their time at DBIS and to share details of their exciting new chapters that lie ahead.
