Nursery Full Day Programme

Dear Nursery Families,

We are excited to finally be able to offer our full-day programme for our Nursery children.

The Nursery School Day:

Due to the approval from the EDB & CHP our Nursery school day will run from 8:45am – 2:30pm. Please see attached images for each class’s individual timetable. On your child’s PE day please ensure they are wearing the appropriate uniform. Your child may also wear their PE kit on their Forest School day if they wish. Please continue to keep a spare set of uniform, underwear and socks clearly labelled with your child’s name in their school bag in case of accidents or exuberant water play. As Nursery students have multiple opportunities to explore outside learning areas it is useful to apply sunscreen and insect repellent before school. We will reapply sunscreen and insect repellent as necessary, if you do not wish for your child to use the provided sunscreen or insect repellent please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Class Timetables:

Nursery Full Days Timetable Term 3 2021 (2)

Nursery Drop-Off and Pick Up Times:

The gates will be opened at 8:40am and classroom doors will be opened at 8:45am. At the end of the Nursery day the gates will be open from 2:25pm and your child will be dismissed at 2:30pm. Once your child has been collected we kindly ask that you leave the campus swiftly to avoid overcrowding.

Morning Tea & Lunches:

During our Outdoor Experience between 9:30am – 10:15am children will have the opportunity to have Morning Tea. Morning Tea is provided by the school, we will be providing fresh fruit and vegetables alongside a choice of a breadstick, cracker or rice cake.

Nursery lunch will take place from 11:30am – 12pm in the dining hall or EY hall. We kindly request that children bring in their own lunch at the start of the school day and place it in the boxes provided. Please ensure your child can open their own lunch box independently and portion sizes are appropriate for the designated eating time. Please also be aware that we are a Nut Aware school and we kindly ask that no products containing nuts are brought onto the school premises. In line with our school Healthy Eating policy, we kindly ask that no sweets, candy or chocolate are to be consumed in school lunches.

Rest Time:

As stipulated by the EDB Nursery children are required to have a 30 minute rest to prepare them for afternoon learning. We will provide your child with their own rest time pillow, which we ask you to keep inside your child’s DBIS rucksack throughout the school week. We kindly ask that rest time pillows are returned to school on the last day of the term.

Education Bureau (EDB) and Centre for Health Protection (CHP) regulations:

To ensure the safety of the Nursery children and the Nursery Team we will continue to align with the policies from the EDB and CHP. Therefore it is essential that all children at school wear masks at all times on campus (other than during designated eating times or to drink water). We kindly request that all masks are clearly labelled with your child’s name and spare masks are kept in their school bag. Your child’s temperature is to be taken and recorded prior to school arrival. Temperature cards will be checked on the gate as you enter the EY campus and temperatures will be taken at the gate as you enter. We will continue to support children with washing and sanitizing their hands throughout the school day.

Library Books:

If you would like to borrow a library book for the week, please send your request via the link https://hub.dbis.edu.hk/bulletin/borrowing-books-from-the-early-years-library/

Communication:

Please continue to regularly visit the DBIS Parent Hub and read the school bulletins, as important information and Nursery updates will be posted there. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to your class teacher at the door or via the Seesaw Family App messaging function.

We would like to thank all our Nursery families for their support throughout a very challenging academic year. We are so excited to be finishing the school year with our full-day programme and look forward to days filled with awe, wonder and childhood!

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team
