Science Museum Trip – Tuesday 19th October 2021

Dear Parents,

I am pleased to inform you that Year 5 will be going on a school trip to the Hong Kong Science Museum on Tuesday the 19th of October.

The purpose of the trip is to give the children the opportunity to see hands-on examples of the principles they have learned about in the current Discovery unit Full Power. The Science Museum is the perfect place to explore these concepts, with a wide range of exhibits including electricity, magnetism, potential and kinetic energy as well as much more.

All four classes will leave by bus shortly after registration, spending the morning in the museum, then returning to DBIS just after lunchtime. The students should wear their regular school uniform, bring a snack and a packed lunch on the day.

We would welcome parent volunteers to support this trip, aiming for five volunteers per class. Please contact your child’s class teacher if you are interested in joining us.

The Science Museum is free for students to visit, so the bus is the only expense. This is $50HKD per child, to be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Payment before the trip is preferable, but with half term interupting next week, paymant after the trip is also fine.

Please give permission for your child to take part in this trip using this jotform.

All cheques to be made payable to ‘Discovery Bay International School Ltd.’

Online bank transfer is also accepted provided that the transfer slip and student information are emailed to the accounts office ([email protected]) for reconciliation purposes.

Bank details are as follows:

Bank name: Discovery Bay International School Limited

HSBC account number: 111-459624-001

Many thanks,

Alex Hughes
