Student Target Setting

Dear Parents/Guardians

Building on from last year, students will, in the first half-term, be setting SMART targets for each of their subjects after a conversation with their teachers. The accountability of goal setting encourages students to look back over their previous successes and failures, evaluating areas they need to improve.

Students can revisit SMART targets and how to set them in their diaries. To further support students, sessions will be delivered in year group assemblies, Learning For Life lessons and tutor time. Time will be set aside on a regular basis in tutor times for students to discuss, write and reflect on the development and achievement of their academic and personal goals. Targets will be set in the students’ diaries, and parents may wish to have a conversation with their children about them.

Please see the following dates for when students will set and review targets and for the Information Evenings offered to parents on Target setting and Report Guidance.
