Welcome back to Ms Anais Fenning – 10B tutor

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We wanted to take this opportunity to inform you that Ms Anais Fenning, tutor for 10B, will be returning from maternity leave on Friday 25th March and is very much looking forward to reconnecting with the year group.

I would like to thank Mr Neil O’Maonaigh-Lennon for his strong guidance and support with 10B over the past few months; he will be a great loss to our Year 10 team.

Mr O’Maonaigh-Lennon and Ms Fenning will be working closely to ensure a smooth transition and to continue to support the students’ social and emotional wellbeing.

We have revamped 1:1 sessions into group Connection Chats where the tutor meets with small groups of four or five to check in and connect with students. These discussions are focused around checking in, celebrations, and concerns or challenges the students are experiencing. Mr O’Maonaigh-Lennon has been running these sessions with the students, and Ms Fenning is eager to continue with these and reconnect with the group. Timetables for the Connection Chats will be updated and posted via the Google Classroom.

I would also like to take the opportunity to ask that parents please remain vigilant with use of social media networking apps and online learning expectations. As we continue with our online learning provision, students are sometimes struggling with motivation and self-management; we are here to support with this and also ask that you are regularly having conversations with your children on how they are coping with this extended period of online learning.

Finally, if you have any questions, your first point of contact is your child’s tutor. They may then contact me as your child’s Head of Year, and you are also welcome to contact Ms Hartcher. Myself, Ms Hartcher and the tutor team are here to support your child, and we all hope that they will approach us or our Head of Wellbeing, Mr Jason Broderick, if additional support is needed.

Kind regards,

Samantha Hine
