Welcome to Term 3 – Year 7

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful Easter break and that your children are ready for classrooms full of excitement and collaborative learning, which is the perfect start to our final term.

Celebrations of achievements in Term 2

There was much to celebrate in Term 2:

  • American Math Competition

A big well done to all those who took part in the competition and also those who received awards.

  • Sports Day
  • ISSFHK Athletics Championships: A well done to all those that took part in the competition, especially Sophie Holland, who achieved Gold in the U12 girls 100m and Bronze in U12 long jump
  • ISSFHK Cross Country Championships

1:1 Tutoring

1:1 tutoring will continue, starting 24th April, and your child’s tutor will inform them when to attend. This allows the tutor to discuss any difficulties, provide support or get to know their tutees better.

House Events

A number of competitions took place last term on a Friday morning and will continue this term with the Shadow House Captains stepping in to help run these once the Year 11 House Captains have started study leave. Over the coming months, we all look forward to more House Event opportunities for all students.

Review of Target Setting

The start of the term is also a great opportunity to review the student-led SMART targets. Building on what they achieved last term is important and by setting their own targets, students tend to be more motivated to strive toward them. It is important that these are realistic, and teachers will be discussing them with Y7–9 students in the coming weeks.

Uniform/Hair Reminder

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all students of the expectations of uniforms. Particular reminders are that students have plain black school shoes and keep their hair as one, natural colour.
