Whole-School STEAM Day

Dear Parents,

We are very excited to inform you that on Thursday 2nd June, we will host our annual STEAM event. This will be a whole-school event where students across all three phases of the school will have an opportunity to carry out a range of exciting challenges that will develop their critical thinking, creative problem solving and collaboration skills. One of the aims of this week is to raise the profile of the STEAM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths – and to give the students an insight into future careers in these fields.

The theme of this year’s STEAM day is ‘Community’, and we look forward to launching the various challenges with students on the big day. To enable students to fully embrace the challenges, the regular school timetable for students from Nursery to Year 9 will be collapsed on this day.

Some of the events in the Primary school and Early Years will involve the use of recyclable materials. It would be greatly appreciated if students could bring in any washed plastic bottles or containers that would otherwise go into a recycling bin. These resources can be delivered to the Discovery Lab over the next two weeks.

Kind regards,

Angela Moriarty and Hannah Sussams
